    All newbies need an initial shot of the gym world. To better embark on your path it is advisable that you do not lose yourself in the myriad of information that the web is full of.

    In this article, I want to offer you a short guide for beginners in the gym, in order to provide you with the knowledge that underlies a path that actually leads to good results.

    If you have just started your fitness journey, you find yourself overwhelmed by a tide of conflicting information and you cannot understand which is the right path to follow, read this article and you will have clear what you need to do.

    Basic principles of beginner training

    Right Mindset

    If you are a beginner, what you need is to first make your body understand that you want a change. It is a mental step, first of all, and then a physical one, moving on to action. Whether you come from other sports or are “sedentary” from the sofa, to start your journey avoid training without criteria, exhaust yourself at each training session and try to amaze others to get results. This way you will simply find yourself drained of all your energy and without having achieved any goals.

    Instead, try to focus on yourself, set goals and strive to achieve them. Mindset makes the difference.

    Right Atmosphere

    No matter how much you focused you are on yourself, your performance will be slow if the atmosphere is not right. If you are the kind of person who sees the people around you as motivation then you will feel right at home among hardcore gym-goers. But if you feel intimidated by them then they will prove to be a distraction. If you fall in the latter category then we suggest finding a gym that caters to people with your mindset. Find a gym that only allows beginners or ordinary folks, gyms like Planet fitness and its lunk alarm.

    Information

    First of all get informed, ask, learn and have fun because remember that constancy (which we will deepen later) is what makes the difference between those who obtain the results they had set for themselves and those who give up everything at the first difficulty. How to be more consistent? Surely if you like what you do and if you find it rewarding it will be easier for you to carry on that activity over time.

    Information makes you an athlete aware and able to make the best use of the tools you have available to achieve your goals.

    Scheduled training

    Following an adequate training schedule certainly allows you to maximize your results. Your motivation is directly proportional to the results you will get, therefore, maximizing them is a double advantage.

    To ensure that you have the results you want, just direct your efforts wisely and you will see that over time they will arrive.

    Consistency

    Without a doubt, the most important factor to take into consideration when starting a fitness journey. You have to be patient. There are many who give up when they realize that just joining the gym is not enough to get bigger. Some, due to genetic predisposition, take less time than others, but all reach the finish line sooner or later. Nobody said it was easy. Otherwise, they would all have the physique of dreams: big, sculpted, and beautiful to look at.

    In conclusion, it must be clear to you that a change (especially a radical one) requires time and perseverance according to the commitment made. The difference between those who have been training for years and have not yet reached their goal and those who, on the other hand, show perseverance.

    Passion

    If you don’t like what you do, then change. There is no point in investing all of your effort, time, and money in something you are not passionate about. Attention! I’m not saying the gym should be your only reason for living. What I want to tell you is that in order for you to be consistent and to have results, you must like what you do.

    If you like it, well, put your all into it. Do not spare yourself, have fun and you will enjoy double the results obtained.

    For this reason, putting passion into it is important. With passion, your workouts surely benefit from better executions, better overloads, and better results.

    Sacrifice

    Last factor, but not least. If you want to take an effective path you must be aware that there will be a sacrifice. Whether it is money, time, or energy, you will have to sacrifice yourself. After all, what good would there be without sacrifice?

    Getting the results you want will be much more satisfying if you sweat out to get them.
