New Zealand’s star batter, Martin Guptill, officially announced his retirement from international cricket on Wednesday, January 8, marking the end of an illustrious 13-year career.

From 2009 to 2022, the 38-year-old represented New Zealand in 367 matches across formats, leaving a legacy of memorable performances and remarkable achievements.

Guptill’s international career is studded with impressive records and milestones. He played 198 ODIs, 122 T20Is, and 47 Test matches, amassing over 14,000 runs in total.

• T20I Excellence: With 3,531 runs, Guptill finishes as New Zealand’s highest scorer in T20Is.
• ODI Contributions: He scored 7,346 runs in ODIs, becoming the third-highest run-getter for New Zealand, following Ross Taylor and Stephen Fleming.
• Century Count: Guptill registered 23 international centuries, including 3 in Tests, 18 in ODIs, and 2 in T20Is.

His last appearance for New Zealand was an ODI against Australia in September 2022.
